Akosombo computer school donates Over 200 face masks to Combine(Pupuni) Market traders.

In the face of this malicious disease taking the globe by surprise, many institutions are doing their very best to support the deprived.

The Ghana-Korea-Germany-Church-Mission Computer Training School Akosombo embarked on an exercise to distribute 200+ face mask to Vulnerable people in the Combine enclave(Pupuni).

The computer school staff met with the assembly man of that area, Hon. Zaragoza, who happily took us to a small gathering of market women.

He took the opportunity to sensitize the people on the virus, and the importance of social distancing and wearing of face mask and other directives given.

People rushed to get a share of their face mask disregarding social distancing. I am glad at least there has been some amount of education given to this rural people about the virus, though more needs to be done.

Some few observations I made:

1. Though markets in Akosombo were closed, this rural community (pupuni) were still in operation, but in small group of three at different locations.

2. The community is aware of the corona virus but are actually not obeying the social distancing. Some actually look unperturbed.

3. No form of assistance has been given to the community since the corona virus outbreak. No sign of veronica buckets and hand washing materials.

4. More sensitization is needed in this area.

At the end, the exercise was successful. Our next project will be going to donate face mask to the drivers at the Akosombo station.

Special thanks to
